The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology, is seeking a Research Assistant Professor. The primary activity of a Research Assistant Professor is academic research in association with a faculty member or team. This position requires an individual with a high level of expertise to be involved in all aspects of the design, development, implementation, and analysis of research projects focused on mucosal immunology with a particular emphasis on celiac disease pathogenesis and B cell biology. Applicants must 1) possess a PhD (or foreign equivalent) in an area of biological science, e.g., immunology, microbiology, or a related field; 2) have at least three years of postdoctoral experience; and 3) have experience with assisting in the training of technicians, students, and postdoctoral researchers. Preferred qualifications include a strong background in cellular and human immunology, a record of peer-reviewed publications in these areas, and experience securing grant funding.
