This dynamic opportunity allows the right candidate to join the leadership team of a brand new innovative community hospital within the UCHealth system. As part of the Nursing Leadership culture the ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical knowledge in the operations all perioperative clinical functions, intervention procedural departments, and other clinical areas as assigned. A proven track record working effectively and collaboratively with the entire OR team is essential. This leadership role requires the skills and ability to perform multiple roles in this brand new, state of the art, community hospital. In addition to a demonstrated competence in the flow of patient care from pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services, knowledge of the clinical functions within interventional services such as, Cardiac Cath and GI lab are crucial. The ideal candidate will be a lean thinker with innovative ideas around staffing models, and build high functioning teams that work collaboratively to deliver a superior patient family centered experience. The ideal candidate will preferably come from an organization that has at least one of the following: successfully implemented Service Excellence principles (No Pass Zones, Maidet, Key Words); understands the major components of operational performance; is a Magnet designated organization.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Master's degree in Nursing
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Certifications as appropriate for areas of responsibility, (BLS, ACLS, PALS)
5 years relevant experience
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
