The Research Technician focuses on the pathophysiology of diabetes, obesity and aging. The Technician is needed to assist in performing histological and cell biology studies involving human specimens and animal models. Techniques used include: specimen preparation, microscope imaging, computer-assisted large-scale image analyses and mathematical analyses. Duties include: Microscope imaging, image and data analyses, which includes writing/modifying computer scripts, maintaining the computer network environment and trouble-shooting hardware/software problems.Preparation of specimens. Maintain mouse colony, which includes animal husbandry and accurate record keeping. Prepare reports and figures on experiments for review and analyses.
