A postdoctoral position is available in the Beach Lab in the Cell and Molecular Physiology Department at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. With an emphasis on quantitative light microscopy, the Beach Lab uses a variety of molecular and cellular approaches to investigate the cytoskeleton during dynamic cellular processes. The ideal candidate will be extremely self-motivated, have a PhD prior to the start date in biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, developmental biology or a related field, have a high-quality publication record, and have strong oral and written communication skills. Mentoring of junior lab members will be expected. We are especially seeking candidates looking to contribute to team science while being provided the latitude to develop independent projects they are passionate about. While the lab is well-funded, the successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue external funding sources. Underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should send a cover letter that includes a brief research statement along with a CV with at least 3 references to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Postdoctoral position”.
