DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 80%: Perform research, analyze data, interpret data, search databases, search relevant literature, standardize new techniques, develop experimental plan with suitable controls and blanks. 20%: Present data in lab meetings and national meetings, write manuscripts, prepare illustrations for presentation and publication with clarity, maintain lab note book and manage data on the computer, communicate with collaborators and supervise junior trainees.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must possess a Masters degree or higher
PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS: Researcher 6 for bench research with cells in culture and transgenic mice to examine glial and mast cell biology in pain. Required that candidate have a Masters degree in neuroscience, cellular biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Candidates will perform experiments following standard techniques and establish newer techniques and develop experimental plan for the experiments. They will analyze data and interpret the results and be able to discuss them in the light of pre-existing literature, our laboratory’s findings and their own input. This position requires an individual with strong reading and writing skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team. Ability to write abstracts and research manuscripts for publication is required. This position is in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation.
