The Hsu Lab is recruiting a Staff Researcher to apply CRISPR genome engineering technologies to dissect the genetic underpinnings of late-onset Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases using human stem cell-derived models. Major efforts will be focused on studying the multigenic nature of these disorders via systematic perturbation of both coding and noncoding human genetic variation to understand their contribution to disease phenotypes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in either or both neurobiology and stem cell biology, and interest in multi-disciplinary training in genome engineering, genomics, and molecular engineering. Experience in glial biology or high-throughput chromatingene expression analysis is a plus.
PhD or M.D. in a life sciences field and experience in either neurobiology or stem cell biology required.
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on research needs.
Successful completion of the Institute’s background investigation.
