The Hsu Lab is recruiting a Staff Researcher to develop and apply novel technologies for precise and efficient manipulation of genetic and cell states. The CRISPR-Cas9 system (Hsu Cell 2014) and other CRISPR-associated protein families constitute a rich, largely untapped resource of genome editing tools. Major efforts will be focused on the molecular characterization and engineering of CRISPR systems to understand how human genetic variation underlies neurodegenerative disease and cancer. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in technology development, as this position involves multi-disciplinary work in molecular biology and protein biochemistry; cell biology; and genome biologynext-generation sequencing.
PhD or M.D. in a life sciences field and experience in molecular and cellular biology or biochemistry required.
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on research needs.
Successful completion of the Institute’s background investigation.
