The Department of Biological Sciences at Wellesley College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Molecular Genetics at the rank of ASSISTANTPROFESSOR to start in July, 2018.
We seek a broadly trained molecular geneticist with expertise in bioinformatics and/or systems-level computational analysis who is strongly committed to excellence in both teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts college environment. The position is open to any area of molecular genetics, however, we are particularly interested in candidates with strong quantitative skills. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching and/or service. We are dedicated to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty.
In addition to teaching in our introductory cell biology and genetics core curriculum, successful candidates would be expected to offer advanced courses in their specialty, and to develop an active research program that involves undergraduates. A PhD and postdoctoral experience are strongly preferred; ABD considered. We welcome candidates with familiarity and/or experience with innovative STEM pedagogy.
