The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to assist in developing a head and neck cancer translational research laboratory. The laboratory will focus on translating the mutational and gene expression characteristics of HPV-positive and HPV-negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma into clinical decision-making, and will involve the development and implementation of novel head and neck cancer translational research projects in collaboration with a head and neck surgeon-scientist. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative researcher with expertise in DNA/RNA isolation, gene expression studies, immunohistochemistry, and working with head and neck cancer cell lines. If successful, this position provides a pathway towards an independent faculty position in the Washington University Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.
PhD in Molecular and/or Cell Biology, and 1- 3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
