The Clinical Stem Cell Laboratory at UI Hospital is looking for a Research Technologist II (Civil Service) who has experience in quality management and cell processing. The laboratory is part of the FACT accredited Stem Cell Transplant Program which cares for an adult patient population undergoing either autologous or allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
The ideal candidate should have experience in all aspects of processing of mobilized peripheral blood and bone marrow or umbilical cord blood for autologous and allogeneic transplantation. A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Sciences, Biological Science or Medical Technology is required. Knowledge and skills of quality management, accreditation, aseptic techniques and flow cytometry skills or familiarity with Automated Cell Analyzer or Program Freezer is required (at least two listed skills are needed).
Research experience in the field of hematopoietic stem cell biology or cell culture will be considered advantageous. The individual will participate in all laboratory activities including maintenance of QC/QA programs as well as responsible for maintaining FACT accreditation for the Blood & Marrow Transplant Program. Expertise in regulatory compliance and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are preferred. We offer a competitive salary and benefits.
