The position will conduct research in the area of host/pathogen interaction and viral immune evasion. Particular emphasis is on research related to the development of cytomegalovirus as a new vaccine vector. CMV is unique in its ability to modulate the T cell responses and in this position, you will conduct research related to the molecular mechanisms by which CMV achieves this. The work will include in vitro analysis of virally infected cells, T cell assays, and the generation of recombinant viruses using tools of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology and biochemistry.
