This Research Lab Supervisor will be responsible for:
Supervision of the daily laboratory operations.
Purchasing and equipment maintenance.
Animal colony management and husbandry.
Maintenance of laboratory stocks.
Establishment of procedures and maintenance of records and documentation to ensure the laboratory's compliance with hospital and governmental regulations.
Additional laboratory duties, including PCR, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, and tissue culture.
Supervising and monitoring work of Research Technicians and working with them to ensure proper preparation and storage of all laboratory materials including chemicals and supplies. Providing input to hiring and performance evaluations.
Monitoring and maintaining accuracy and completeness of databases.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience OR Master of Science AND 4 yrs of relevant work experience.
The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and indepth, experiencebased knowledge.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including assigning and distributing work, enforcing policies, may conduct performance reviews, and counsel employees with performance and/or disciplinary issues. Work requires ability to write detailed reports and proposals.
Specific experience with laboratory animals, molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or tissue culture a plus.
